2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS is already open for order with pricing set at £131,296 in the UK, and €181,690 in Germany. It is powered by a 4.0 liter flat six engine offering peak power of 500 hp and peak torque of 338 lb/ft. The engine is mated to a 7 speed PDK transmission. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 3.1 seconds while top speed stands at 320 kmph.
Ideally designed for the race track, 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS can lap across Nurburgring circuit in 7 min 20 secs, which makes it faster that the Carrera GT and competing head on with 991 GT3. Made of lightweight materials such as magnesium for its roof panel and carbon fiber for luggage compartment lids, the 911 GT3 RS also sports a host of aerodynamic features such as front lip spoiler, large rear wing and front wheel arch air vents all of which combine to increase downforce on front axle.
Other sport centric features include wider tracks both at the front and rear, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, variable rear limited slip differential and the widest of tyres yet to be seen on a 911 to date. Interiors which receive the Club Sport Package as standard are dominated by Alcantara and carbon fiber bucket seats. This package also includes a bolted roll cage behind front seats, a fire extinguisher and six point harnesses for driver.
Sports Chrono Package is optional. It comes with Porsche Track Precision app for your smart phone and utilizes GPS to measure lap time and other data such as speed, acceleration and deceleration. More details will be revealed when the 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS nears launch date in July.
