According to a report via PTI, bits and parts of 2016 Skoda Superb (CKD) is set to land in India in the second half of 2016, which will be assembled as usual at the Czech automaker’s facility in Aurangabad.
Skoda Superb has long been the segment leader in India, selling 100 to 150 units a month, while its rivals stand with no chance to match this pace even though this is not a big enough number to sustain the model in the market.
It is doubtful how much of a difference in sales the next generation Skoda Superb will make in India when it launches next year. Superb stands on the cusp of premium D-segment sedan and entry-level luxury car spaces where Audi A3, Q3 and such models are preferred for snob value.
But, given that 2016 Superb is expected to offer a plethora of features for its price range, and the sheer size and cabin room of the sedan will be left unmatched by any other car in its class except for 2015 VW Passat when it comes to India, Superb would be a very compelling car to buy.
Till 2016 Skoda Superb India launch, the company has no new product to offer in the country. New Skoda Fabia is not coming to India anytime soon. After the new Superb is launched in India, from 2017 Skoda plans to add more cars to their portfolio in India.
