Toyota presented an animated video showcasing improved safety and driver assist systems, at 2015 Geneva Motor Show. In the film, the demo car is a Toyota Corolla, redesigned probably to fit the scenes better. But, there is a chance that the car in the video could be based on an upcoming version of Corolla.
The 2016 Toyota Corolla facelift featured in the film has a new front fascia, with minimal features to talk about. Compared to current model, chrome grille slats are missing and there is no provision for fog lamps. The bumper is simply blank and entire focus goes to the Toyota badge at the centre. Twin pot headlamp is condensed to single projector unit throwing both beams, and turn indicators are shifted to the other corner. There is not much change in side and rear profiles, except for the thicker chrome trim between the tail lights.
In India, Toyota launched the latest Corolla in May 2014, priced from Rs 11.99 lakhs. Offered in a choice of petrol and diesel engine options, the Corolla competes with the likes of Skoda Octavia, Chevrolet Cruze, Hyundai Elantra nd Renault Fluence.
If 2016 Toyota Corolla facelift is underway and this really is the design the Japanese are working towards producing, what do you think of its design?
