The 2016 Toyota Innova is gearing for its launch in Indonesia on November 23. Before the actual launch, Toyota Indonesia have officially released the Innova in images.
As revealed by the official images, the new Innova features a completely revamped design inside out. The sportier exterior design is composed of sleek projector headlamps, a prominent hexagonal grille with twin chrome slats, angular greenhouse and L-shaped rear combination lights.
The obsolete interior design of the current car is replaced by a premium looking dual-tone black-beige interior with wooden inserts, a touchscreen infotainment system, new instrument console and a multi function steering. Like the current model, both 7-seater (with Captain seats in the middle row) and 8-seater configurations would be available.
The equipment level too has been enhanced to justify the move up the market. The 2016 Innova will offer airbags, ABS with EBD, automatic climate control with rear AC vents, LED ambient lighting, voice command, reverse parking camera, cooled glove box and many more.
Based on the new IMV ladder frame platform which is shared with the new Fortuner and Hilux Revo, 2016 Toyota Innova is powered by a downsized 2.4-litre GD series diesel engine which is tuned to deliver a healthy 149 PS. The motor is mated to a 5-speed MT or a 6-speed AT. Apart from this, there is also a petrol 2.0 liter motor on offer along with new Innova.
Price is not revealed yet, and will be revealed on 23rd. Dealers in Indonesia expect the price of new Innova to start from IDR 282 million (INR 13.71 lakh / $20,651) for the entry level Type G petrol variant, while the top of the line Type Q diesel variant is expected to cost IDR 400 million (INR 19.46 lakh / $29,301).
