2016 Yamaha XSR900 makes EICMA debut

Yamaha has revealed all the details of soon to be launched XSR900, which comes in to join the Yamaha Sport Heritage range.

The new Yamaha XSR900 is based on Yamaha FZ-09 platform and draws styling from the XS models sporting hand buffed aluminum fuel tank cover, rounded headlights and instrument console with brake light.

Engine specifications on the 2016 Yamaha XSR900 includes a 847cc liquid-cooled Inline Three, 12-valve, DOHC engine also seen on the FZ-09 and FJ-09. The new XSR900 sits on Bridgestone Battlax tyres on a wheelbase of 56.7” while seat height stands at 32.7”. Boasting of a fuel tank of 3.7 gallon capacity, the 2016 Yamaha XSR900 has a total curb weight of 430 lbs contributing to better riding experience.

Other features on board the 2016 Yamaha XSR900 include three stage traction control, ABS assist and slipper clutch while it sports 41mm forks at the front and a single shock at the rear which are adjustable for spring preload and rebound damping.

2016 Yamaha XSR900 could be priced from £7,849 (US $11,909 / INR 7,85,397) and will be available in Matte Gray/Aluminum and 60th Anniversary Yellow.
