Last week, we posted spy shots of the new A5 Sportback, which was caught for the first time testing in India. Our spy photographer managed to click the rear quarter of the five door car and before he could capture the front, the car accelerated ahead.
Now, two more sets of spy images have surfaced of the same car which was spotted by us. These new spy shots, though low on resolution, do given an idea about the car’s side profile and front design.
Yet to make global debut, new generation Audi A5 Sportback is based on the MLB lightweight platform, the same platform on which the new A4 is based. Considering that the new A4, which has already been launched in markets abroad, is lighter and more agile, thanks to the new MLB platform, same can be expected of the new gen A5 sportback.
Apart from the five door variant, A5 Sportback will also be available in three door coupe and convertible formats. First variant to be unveiled is the A5 three door sportback, which is scheduled to make global debut at Audi’s home – Ingolstadt on 2nd June 2016.
Features on offer with the new A5 sportback are matrix LED headlights, new signature single frame grille, LED taillights, new bumper design, new alloys, leather upholstery, MMI, touchscreen infotainment system, navigation, rear parking camera and so on.
Engine options on offer could be Audi’s new range of petrol and diesel mills. The one spied in India is powered by a 2.0 liter diesel which delivers 190 PS power and 400 Nm torque. More details will be revealed once the car is revealed.
