New Bajaj Pulsar 220F Black and Red colour option gets updated

One of the best selling motorcycle nameplate in the country, Pulsar has been in existence for over a decade now. Starting with 150 and 180, the Pulsar range today has 135, 150, 180, RS200 and 220F.

Every now and then, Bajaj has been seen giving updates to their range of Pulsar motorcycles. Most of the times, these upgrades merely mean getting new colour schemes. After launching the BS4 variants of new Pulsar 220 with three colour options – Nuclear Blue with White stripes, Laser Black with Red stripes, and Dyno Red with Golden stripes – Bajaj is all set to add two more colour variants – Laser Black with White stripes and Dyno Red with White Stripes.

It is not clear whether Bajaj will replace the existing Dyno Red Golden stripes with Dyno Red White stripes and Laser Black Red Stripes with Laser Black White stripes with the newly spied Laser Black White stripes and Dyno Red White stripes or will add them to the line-up as new colours. The video below (Thanks Ajo Anil) shows the new colour scheme.

As far as changes are concerned, there are none. As was the case with the new Pulsar 220F BS4 – it gets a new exhaust. It also gets a revised instrument cluster with blue backlight (previous one had orange backlight), better cushioned seats, and biggest of them all, a BSIV compliant engine. This has made the new Pulsar 220 more fuel efficient, but sadly, engine specs remain same as before, which is 21.05 PS @ 8,500 rpm and 19.12 Nm @ 7,000 rpm. Price starts from INR 91,201, ex-showroom Delhi.

Pulsar 220F is one of the remarkable and few additions in the 200+cc segment back in 2009. Despite sharing stable with a more powerful brother – Pulsar RS200, the 220F sells in good numbers and has its place in youngsters’ hearts intact.

Its 220cc 4-stroke oil-cooled engine that produces 21 PS at 8500 rpm and 19.12 Nm at 7000 rpm is still a charm to rev on the streets and go on a hike. The majestic road presence and comfortable sport riding position gives rider enough confidence to zip and sway through dense traffic and lean in on cramped corners.
