2017 Ford EcoSport 4WD unveiled at LA Auto Show

India launch of the new EcoSport facelift is expected to take place by second half of 2017.

2017 Ford EcoSport facelift made global debut at the ongoing LA Auto Show. The car on display, is the first-ever 4WD variant of the EcoSport. It will be exclusively offered with a 2.0 liter engine. Other engine option on offer in the US will be a 1.0 liter EcoBoost.

As of now, the 4×4 variant of EcoSport facelift is going to be sold only in the US. But considering that the car is going to be built in India and exported to the US, chances are that the new Ford EcoSport 4×4 is also launched in India.

The revamped front fascia of the 2017 EcoSport adopts a hexagonal grille which is more tuned towards global design language. The headlamps, bumpers, bonnet and fenders are also reskinned to go with the new grille. The overall front end design has derived inspiration from the new Edge. The profile has stayed intact while the rear fascia gets slightly revised combination lights and more chrome on the tailgate. In addition to this, there are also new front and rear bumpers.

The interior is the most significant enhancement by far. New EcoSport ditches the current dashboard design with centre console in favor of an understated yet more upmarket design which is further enhanced by dual-tone black-beige color theme. The steering wheel and instrument cluster are also all-new.

All-new Ford EcoSport SES features unique interior styling cues such as bold copper accents for instrument and door panels along with sport seats.

Higher variants get 8 inch colour touchscreen infotainment system, dual front airbags, projector headlamps, automatic climate control, LED daytime running lights, reverse parking camera, ABS with EBD, etc.

The powertrain lineup is expected to be retained as it is. The India-spec car is currently available with two petrol – 1.0L turbocharged EcoBoost and 1.5-litre Ti-VCT – and the lone 1.5-litre diesel engine.
