The production version is slated to be unveiled sometime in the early 2017.

The racy 2017 Honda Civic Hatchback concept has been unveiled at 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The design study previews the last family member of the tenth generation model which is currently available in 4-door sedan and Coupe avatars.

The hatchback retains its siblings’ primary design cues including the low-slung front fascia with massive chrome applique, LED headlamps, tight fitting roof, heavily contoured sheet metal surfaces and a sharp rear end with C-shaped LED combination lights. Production ready model of the 2017 Civic hatchback would be a mildly watered down version of the concept and we don’t expect to see the massive air intakes on the rear bumper.

Production model is slated for early 2017 debut.

The basic interior design is expected to be common for all the family members but the hatchback is likely to feature sportier color themes and trims to appeal to younger audience. One can expect the final production version to come in modern connectivity features.

The hot hatchback will be powered by the new 1.0- and 1.5-litre turbocharged i-VTEC petrol motors and the 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel engine. Both manual and automatic transmissions would be on offer.

A single turbo diesel engine and two turbo petrol motors constitute the powertrain lineup.

The Honda Civic hatchback will not only be retailed in the Europe but will also reach the American shores this time around. To be produced in the UK, the hot hatchback is slated to debut in early 2017.
