First launched in 2013, the second generation SX4 S-Cross from Suzuki was launched in India last year as the S-Cross. Now, an undisguised photo of facelifted S-Cross has emerged online, which were reportedly clicked during a Suzuki dealer meet in France. These photos reveal the front quarter of 2017 Maruti Suzuki S-Cross, as well its dashboard.
Compared to the existing S-Cross, which looks more like a larger hatchback, the facelifted version looks more like an SUV. It has a beefed up front, sculpted bonnet with muscular creases, revised headlight cluster with projector headlamps and LED DRLs, front grille gets vertical chrome slats with a Suzuki badge in the centre. It also appears that the ground clearance too has been increased.
Lower bumper houses circular foglights, silver skid plate and a black plastic cladding. On the side, you get plastic cladding on the lower part of the doors, as well as on the wheel arches. Other visible features include silver side skirts, new alloys, sunroof, body coloured ORVM and door handles with blacked B pillar. Overall, the leaked photo does seem that Suzuki designer had one of the BMW X SUVs in mind while designing the facelifted S-Cross.
On the inside, 2017 S-Cross facelift retains the dashboard layout but gets a bit funky with new colour options. Steering wheel, instrument control, Smartplay infotainment system with touchscreen, AC controls, all remain same. What is new is the i20 Active styled new sporty dual tone colour option on the dashboard.
Speaking about engine options, expect the 2017 Maruti S-Cross facelift to be offered with a new range of more economical and powerful BoosterJet engines along with the current 1.6-litre diesel 120 PS engine.
