2017 Suzuki GSX150R spy shots reveal that it is inspired by India-spec Gixxer SF, which has been on sale in the country since 2015. As seen from the spy shots, there are a lot of updates on offer with the 2017 Suzuki GSX150R, as compared to the India-spec Gixxer. This probably makes it fit enough to be a facelift of India-spec Gixxer SF.
Changes on offer include, sharper headlight cluster with LED strip, revised fuel tank design, split handlebars, split seats, sleeker front fairing, revised LED tail light, and a new digital instrument console. The exhaust system too has been revised.
Looking much sportier than the Indian counterpart, 2017 Suzuki GSX150R could also receive a bump in power and torque. The India spec Gixxer SF is powered by a 154.9 cc air-cooled FI engine generating max power of 14.8 PS @ 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 14 Nm @ 6,000 rpm. This could easily be bumped up by about 10%, so as to compete with the newly launched Yamaha R15 in Indonesia.
Just like existing Gixxer, it gets front and rear disc brakes. To be launched in the coming week, local media is reporting a price tag of approximately INR 1.5 lakh for the 2017 Suzuki GSX150R.
