Sharper than ever before, the new VW Golf facelift now comes with a revised exterior and feature-rich interior. Compared to the old Golf, the facelift gets new front design thanks to new bumper, and refreshed full-LED headlights with DRLs. At the rear is new LED taillights and a revised bumper.
Overall, in spite of the subtle changes, the new Golf is much more sporty and attractive to look at, compared to the one before.
The interior continue to remain clean and classy. The dashboard is finished in all-black and is clutter free. The top of the line Golf now comes with a ‘Discover Pro’ infotainment system which includes a 9.2 inch HD display. This new infotainment system comes with all the existing features of older’s Golf’s infotainment system as well as it also gets a new feature which lets you configure the icons, home screen, etc. Input metods include voice control, touch or gensture control.
Powering the new VW Golf facelift is VW’s latest 1.5 liter TSI which delivers 150 PS and comes with COD (Cylinder on Demand tech). There is also a Bluemotion version of the same engine which delivers 130 PS. Mileage claimed by the 150 PS variant is 20 kmpl, while that by the Bluemotion 130 PS variant is 22 kmpl.
A GTI variant is also on offer. The new Golf GTI will deliver 230 PS aboard the standard version and 245 PS with the Performance version. Transmission option now includes a 7 speed DSG. More details in the news release below.
