The improved version of Aprilia SR150 automatic scooter has been spotted at a dealership ahead of its launch which is set to take place in the coming days. The sporty Italian scooter which has been received very well by young urban audience for its excellent performance and style quotient now gets some important updates.
The most significant addition that 2018 Aprilia SR150 brings on board is the new digi-analog instrument console which replaces the old two-pod analog unit. The analog part indicates speed while the amber backlit digital display incorporates odometer, trip meter, time and fuel gauge.
While it’s difficult to see the photos and say whether the 2018 SR150 is equipped with ABS / CBS or not, we expect the scooter to be equipped with the safety feature to comply with the government’s improved regulations. Another noteworthy element is the USB charging port in the underseat storage compartment. The updated version is also comes with new color schemes.
Rest of the scooter continues without any noticeable changes. The 2018 Aprilia SR150 features 14-inch alloy wheels, telescopic front fork, one-sided rear shock absorber, tubeless 120/70-14 front and rear tyres, double-barrel headlamp unit, front disc brake, etc. We also expect the SR150 Race variant to receive the 2018 model year updates. The Race differs from the regular variant by means of a WSBK inspired multicolor livery, red finish for the alloy wheels, and golden front brake calipers.
The sporty automatic scooter is powered by a 154.8 cc air-cooled engine which is mated to a CVT to produce 10.4 hp and 11.4 Nm of torque. The SR150 has a fuel tank capacity of 6.5 litres.
The 2018 Aprilia SR150 is priced at Rs 90,462 (on-road, Delhi), this is about Rs 10k higher than the older SR150 without the new features. The alternative 150 cc automatic scooter options in India are also from Piaggio’s stable (Vespa). The update is expected to boost the SR150’s sales performance by a noticeable extent.
