First launched in 2005, Bajaj Avenger is an entry level cruiser motorcycle which has managed to create a select fan following for itself in the country. Earlier this month, we saw Bajaj showcasing the updated Avenger Cruise 220 and Street 220 variants.
At that time, price of these new variants was not revealed. It has been revealed now. Both the Bajaj Avenger 2018 variants are priced same – at Rs 93,466, ex-showroom, Delhi. The new Avenger range features – LED DRL, revised fuel tank cap, revised seating, new grab rail etc.
The three variants of Bajaj Avenger on offer in India today are – Bajaj Avenger Street 150, Bajaj Avenger Street 220, and Bajaj Avenger Cruise 220. Update is offered only on the 220 variants. As the name suggests, the Street 150 and Street 220 are similar in design but are powered by different engines, while the Street 220 and Cruise 220 have same engines, but feature a completely different design.
The Street series is built for the urban crowd. It gets black matte treatment with black alloys while the Cruise series gets more chrome. Riding position too has been adjusted according to the style. The USP this time is the digital instrument cluster with blue backlit on Cruise and orange backlit on Street. It features trip meters, Speedometer, fuel meter, service reminder, etc.
Both bikes get a new Moon White paint scheme. Cruise 220 gets a taller windscreen, new handlebar, 17 inch front wheel, 15 inch rear, backrest for pillion with ‘Avenger’ insignia. Cruise on the other hand, gets revised headlight, more matte black touch, new grab rail, etc. Both bikes get a new seat texture, which will increase comfort during long distance rides.
Engine will remain same. Avenger Street 150 is powered by a 150 cc four stroke single cylinder air cooled engine which delivers 14.5 PS power and 12.5 Nm torque. The Street 220 and Cruise 220 are powered by a 220 cc single cylinder air cooled engine which delivers 19 PS power and 17.5 Nm torque. More details will be revealed at launch later this year.
