Hyundai has added a host of new features to the new 2018 Creta Sport, which made its global debut in Brazil earlier this week. Apart from launching the Creta Sport, Hyundai has updated the entire Creta lineup. Prices have also been increased. In Brazil, where the new Creta variant is launched, prices range from BRL 77,890 to BRL 103,990 (INR 14.2 – 18.96 lakhs).
Exterior changes to 2019 Hyundai Creta Sport include various black themed updates. It is seen with a hexagonal grille with a glossy black frame, black painted roof rails, gloss black accents above the registration plate and gloss black bumper accents. It sits on dual tone 17” alloy wheels and a distinctive “Sport” emblem on front door.
Interiors have also been revamped in the same all black color scheme with all black seating and headliner, blueMedia infotainment system (only on the top end Prestige trim), Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
A notable feature is the Digital TV which also works when the car is stationary. Creta Sport gets a range of safety features with front airbags, traction control, hill start assist and electronic stability control. Better suspension leads to less body roll and extra stability.
2019 Hyundai Creta Sport is powered by a 2.0 liter DVVT 16V flex fuel engine offering 156 hp peak power and 187.3 Nm peak torque mated to a 6 speed automatic transmission. 2018 Creta Sport gets exterior color options of Polar White, Black Onix, Silver Metal, Silver Sand, Titanium Gray and Bronze Earth, Green Forest and Red Chilli.
Hyundai India could launch the updated Creta Sport here sometime next year, as a special edition. India is one of the largest market for the Creta. Here, the SUV generates sales of 11,000 units every month. Apart from being a high volume product, it is also a high profit margin product for Hyundai.
