Hyundai India is getting ready to launch one of their biggest products in the country this year. It is going to be in the form of the all new generation of Santro. Hyundai Santro, codenamed AH2 as on date, has been officially revealed by the company in a new sketch.
Along with the sketch, Hyundai says, “Hyundai unveils First Design Renders of Most Awaited Contemporary Family Car based on Modern Tall Boy Concept code named AH2! The render images depict Hyundai Motor India’s Respect for the Past and Confidence of the Future. Targeted to the families seeking comfort and space with uncompromised Style!”
The new Hyundai Santro, will come in with refined exteriors and interiors and an updated engine which will also sport AMT (Smart Auto). The Santro hatchback will be based on Hyundai Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language.
It will sport the same tall boy design with a high mounted fog lamps, pulled back headlamps, high set nose, 14” alloy wheels with wheelcaps, LED DRLs and deep character lines running along its sides. It will also receive pull open door handles, black inserts at the rear and rear wipers.
Interiors will be seen in a color combination of black and beige. It will get an analogue instrument cluster, analogue tachometer, touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and could also include manual air conditioning, four power windows, steering mounted controls along with a Bluetooth equipped music system. Reverse parking camera will be a feature only offered on the top spec model.
The new Hyundai Santro will be powered by a 1.0 liter, 3 cylinder petrol engine with 5 speed manual gearbox and AMT transmission option. Prices are expected to start in the range of Rs 3-4 lakhs. Once launched, the new Santro will compete with the Tata Tiago and Renault Kwid in its class.
