Mahindra and Mahindra officially launched the new XUV500 in India at a starting price of INR 12.32 lakhs. Offered in a choice of petrol and diesel engine option, the SUV is also offered with a range of new accessories. It was one such example, that was on display at the launch event.
Accessorized XUV500 shows extensive use of chrome with chrome accents all round the exterior makeup and black roof. The list of accessories include a chrome grille, chrome appliqué on side moulding, chrome tail lamp surrounds, chrome on rear fog lamps and boot lip along with chrome accents on window sill from C pillar and along the rear windshield.
All this extensive use of chrome gives the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 a more premium stance. The top spec model receives 18” diamond cut alloy wheels as against the 17” wheels seen on its outgoing counterpart. These also enhance the stance of the XUV500 giving it a bolder appeal.
Interiors get done up with optional rear seat infotainment kit with a screen for second row occupants which is integrated into the backs of front headrests. It also features tan leather with soft touch leather on dashboard while piano black is seen on the central console. Faux leather on doors further enhances the interiors of the SUV.
M&M powers the XUV500 with an updated 2.2 liter mHawk diesel engine offering 155 hp power and 360 Nm torque mated to 6 speed manual or 6 speed AT. There is also a 2.2 liter mHawk petrol engine offering 140 hp power and 320 Nm torque.
