2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift spied on video before launch – Official bookings open

2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift will launch in mid August and bookings open at INR 11,000 fully refundable. Hat tip to automotive enthusiast Mr Dennis Kalyana, for recording the video of new Ciaz.

The new 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz facelift has entered production at company plant. It has also been opened for booking at NEXA dealer level at a down-payment of Rs 10,000. This amount is fully refundable, in case you decide to cancel the booking post launch due to some reason.

Set to compete against Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Toyota Yaris, the new 2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift gets updated exterior and interior features while engine lineup is also completely revamped. Exteriors have been noted on models on test to sport a new front grille with chrome accents, headlamps and projector lamps with LED DRLs.

It also receives refreshed bumper design, larger air intakes and new fog lamps while it sits on a new set of multi spoke alloy wheels. The rear sports a new bumper design with new LED tail lamps and new reflectors.

Interiors are seen in a beige color scheme with faux wooden inserts on dashboard and doors. Design changes also see a new steering wheel design, an updated SmartPlay infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto along with Suzuki’s new Connect Telematics System.

Major changes will be seen in engine lineup. The new 2018 Maruti Suzuki Ciaz gets a new petrol engine and mild hybrid system becoming the first petrol hybrid car in its segment. This 1.5 liter K Series petrol engine comes to replace the 1.4 liter engine seen on its outgoing model.

The new 1.5 liter engine will be capable of 104 bhp power and 138 Nm torque with a mild hybrid system offering better fuel efficiency. The engine gets mated to a 5 speed manual or a 4 speed automatic transmission. Diesel engine powered Ciaz will not be on offer.

Prices of the new Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is pegged between Rs 8-11 lakhs, making it compete efficiently with the Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Toyota Yaris. Fuel efficiency is expected at 21 kmpl for petrol manual, making it one of the best mileage premium car in India.
