Due for launch by August 2018, the new Maruti Ciaz sedan has been spied once again. This time without wearing any camouflage. Spotted in NEXA blue, the new Maruti family sedan will be open for bookings from July via the NEXA outlets.
2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift gets a sharper design and more premium features. The car on test, is the top end variant. Seen in distinctive shade of blue, it sported a wide radiator grille, inverted lower grille, headlamps with LED DRLs and new fog lamp housing.
It also gets a revised bumper design and sits on new 16” alloy wheels. The rear end sports new LED tail lamps. Sporting an electric sunroof, the new Maruti Ciaz gets revised black and beige colored interiors. It is seen with a new dashboard design, fresh seat upholstery and new instrument cluster along with features such as cruise control, a centrally positioned MID screen, 2 DIN music system and a new tachometer.
2018 Maruti Ciaz facelift will be offered in 5 trim levels of Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha and Sport. It will be powered by newly developed 1.5-litre VVT petrol engine. This is an all new engine and will be launched for the first time in India. It offers 104.7 PS power and 138 Nm torque.
Apart from this, the Ciaz will also be on offer with a diesel engine. This will be in the form of a 1.3 liter Fiat sourced mill, generating 90 PS and 200 Nm. Transmission option on board the petrol variant will be manual as well as automatic, but with diesel, only manual option is expected to be on offer. Also on offer will be mild hybrid system, which will help improve fuel economy.
Like its earlier counterpart, the new Maruti Ciaz facelift will come with ABS and dual front airbags as standard. It is expected to be priced between Rs 7.5 lakh to Rs 11.5 lakh. Once launched, it will rival the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, VW Vento and Skoda Rapid.
