Comparatively, the new Ciaz is more expensive than before. For example, the base variant price has been increased by as much as 35,00, Delta trim has seen an increase of price by Rs 50,000. Do justify the price hike, the new 2018 Maruti Ciaz comes with added features, some of them which are first in the segment.

The new Ciaz will be a lot safer than its current counterpart. Thanks to addition of interesting new safety features. It will be seen with both speed alert system and seat belt reminder for driver and front passengers and will be offered as standard on all four variants of the Ciaz facelift – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. Dual airbags and ABS is standard on all trims. Speaking about rivals, Honda City and Hyundai Verna are offered with 6 airbags on top trim, while Toyota Yaris comes with 7 airbags as standard.

2018 Maruti Ciaz Alpha trim will also get a huge multi information display, different than other variants. This will be colour display where an animated Ciaz car will be shown (like how Baleno has). It will also display torque, power, range, distance to empty, vehicle health, etc. Watch the 2018 Maruti Ciaz video review by Ranveer Singh below.

16 inch diamond cut alloys will only be on offer with top end Alpha trim of new Maruti Ciaz. Other models get 15 inch wheels. Delta variant gets 15 inch alloys with new design. LRD DRLs in the headlight and tail light are only for Alpha variant. Alpha and Zeta both get rain sensing wipers.

Maruti Ciaz facelift will be seen with two engine options. These will include a new 1.5 liter K15B petrol engine while the 1.3 liter diesel engine is the same as that seen on its earlier counterpart.

The 1.5 liter petrol engine produces 103 bhp power and 138 Nm torque and will be offered with SHVS mild hybrid technology. The 1.3 liter diesel engine will be capable of 89 bhp power and 200 Nm torque and will come in mated to a 5 speed automatic gearbox as standard. Petrol mileage is 21 kmpl while diesel is at 28 kmpl.

The new Maruti Ciaz rivals the likes of Honda City and Hyundai Verna for sales in the segment. It will also compete with the likes of Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid.
