2018 Maruti Ertiga spied with emission testing equipment – Launch soon

The second generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, which made its world debut at Indonesia in April 2018, is now set to go on sale in India. Heading towards a festive launch next month, the new Ertiga will be sold exclusively through NEXA showrooms.

Being tested for BS6 emission?

Automotive enthusiast and Team-BHP member Raj Dubey has managed to click the latest spy shots of the soon to be launched Maruti Ertiga in India. These spy photos clearly show that the new Ertiga is being tested for meeting emission norms. As it is getting new petrol and diesel engines, emission testing is compulsory.

As compared to the 1.4 liter petrol engine seen on the current Ertiga, the new 2018 Ertiga will receive a more powerful 1.5 liter petrol engine offering 104.7 PS power and 138 Nm torque. This is the same engine which has been on offer with the new Ciaz.

It will also get powered by a 1.5 diesel engine developed in-house. Diesel engine will be mated to 6 speed manual transmission, while petrol will get 5 speed MT and AT. Expect mileage for petrol Ertiga to be around 20 kmpl, and that for diesel Ertiga to be around 25 kmpl.

In terms of safety, the 2018 Ertiga gets pushbutton start/stop, automatic climate controls, dual front airbags, ISOFIX child seat anchors and ABD with EBD. Once officially launched in India, the new Ertiga will compete against the Renault Lodgy and Honda BR-V.
