The second generation 2018 Maruti Ertiga marks its entry into the competitive MPV segment in India. The new Ertiga comes in with a new Nexa Blue color scheme, new platform and revised exterior and interior design elements along with a more fuel efficient engine lineup.
Maruti Suzuki India Limited has officially launched the second generation 7 seater Ertiga compact MPV in India. Presented in four variants of L, V, Z and Z+, prices range from Rs 7.44 lakhs to Rs 10.9 lakhs. The new Ertiga is offered in four diesel and six petrol variants and in exterior color options of Silky silver, Serene Blue, Granite Grey, Pearl Blue Blaze, Superior white while Nexa Blue is new color scheme.
Exterior the second gen Maruti Ertiga sports a new front chrome studded grille, revised double barrel headlamp design and new bumpers. It also sits on new 20 spoke alloy wheels and gets strong character lines extending to its vertically stacked tail lamps. It also receives a floating roof and electronically adjustable outside rear view mirrors with integrated turn indicators.
The new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is also larger than its earlier counterpart. It is positioned on the company’s new HEARTECT platform that also underpins the Baleno, Swift and DZire and measures 99mm longer, 40mm wider and 5mm taller than its predecessor. Boot space has also been increased by 18 liters from 135 liters to 153 liters, but wheelbase remains the same at 2,740mm.
The all beige colored cabin is seen with a faux wood inserts on steering wheel and doors. It now gets a dashboard in a horizontal layered design along with a new AC vent design, new floating multimedia screen and a flat bottomed steering wheel. It retains its 7 seater layout and third row seats can now be individually reclined for better comforts while the seats can also be folded in a 50:50 fashion for better luggage space. In terms of safety, the 2018 Maruti Ertiga gets dual airbags, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensors and ISOFIX child seat mounts.

Borrowing its engine lineup from the new Ciaz, the 2018 Ertiga gets its power via a 1.5 liter petrol engine offering 103 bhp power and 138 Nm torque and a 1.3 liter diesel engine producing 90 bhp power and 200 Nm torque. Both these engines get mated to a 5 speed manual while the petrol engine also gets a 4 speed automatic transmission. New Maruti Ertiga is now on sale via all the 2,200 Arena outlets. It rivals the Renault Lodgy, Honda BR-V and Mahindra Marazzo.
