Showcased at Indonesia Motor Show 2018, the new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is all set to be launched in India this year, most likely ahead of Diwali festive season.

The next generation Maruti Suzuki Ertiga grows in dimensions even though it is positioned on the same 2,740mm wheelbase. It is longer, wider, taller than the earlier model, measuring 4265mm x 1695mm x 1685mm and is also slated to be lighter and stiffer.

Despite growing in dimensions, boot space has been reduced to 153 liters from 183 liters seen on its current model, which means that interior space will be at a premium.

Speaking about engines, the new Ertiga get its power from an all new petrol 1.5 liter engine which is capable of generating 104 PS and 138 Nm, making it the most powerful Maruti engine in India. In addition to this, it will also be offered with Fiat sourced 1.3 liter DDiS engine offering 90 PS power and 200 Nm torque. Transmission option on offer will be automatic as well as AMT.

With this new powerful engine, and increased dimensions with lighter body, how will the new Ertiga perform on a race track? Will it be able to take on those high speed corners, brake in time? Well, Youtuber Motomobi has created a video which answers these questions. Watch the new Ertiga racing on a race track in the video below.

Driven by professional racers, as per the test, Maruti Ertiga Automatic a best lap time of 2:24.71 while the Manual variant did the lap in 2:17.96.

Compared to the old Ertiga, the new one is better in every way. It has a quicker acceleration, better top speed, better handling, better fuel efficiency, more space, more power. Even on the race track, it performs well for an MPV.
