2018 Maruti Ertiga touchscreen system revealed – Apple, Android compatible

Spied undisguised at a dealer yard, the 2018 Maruti Ertiga MPV gets a more aggressive stance as compared to its earlier counterpart. New Ertiga is also open for pre-bookings at a down payment of Rs 11,000 through exclusive Arena showrooms across the country. You can also book online.

The next gen Maruti Ertiga will be presented in 10 options out of which LXi, VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ are petrol manual variants, VXi and ZXi are petrol automatic and LDi, VDi, ZDi and ZDi+ are four diesel manual variants. This time round Maruti Suzuki will not offer the LXi (O) and LDi (O) variants as were seen on its earlier counterpart.

Offered in a new design language, new Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will sport a new front grille with chrome accents, projector headlamps, chrome outlining on license plate, 15” alloy wheels, new fog lamp housing and a sculpted bonnet, all of which give the Ertiga a more aggressive stance. The cabin is noted with a host of connectivity and infotainment features. AC vents on passenger side along with a floating SmartPlay infotainment system on top variants.

The Ertiga borrows its flat bottom steering wheel design from the DZire and top end variants get automatic climate control. The infotainment system supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto while other interior features include cooled cup holders, reclining third row seating, adjustable headrests and a 12V charging socket.

Engine specifications on the 2018 Maruti Ertiga could include a 1.5 liter petrol engine offering 104 hp power and 138 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed manual or 4 speed automatic gearbox. The 1.3 liter diesel engine, continued from the earlier model, offers 90 hp power and 200 Nm torque via 5 speed MT. Both options will be offered with SHVS mild hybrid tech.

Even though bookings have opened, there are still no indications on pricing; which could be at a slight premium over its current model. Prices of new Ertiga will be revealed on November 21. Once launched, the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga will compete with the Honda BR-V and the recently launched Mahindra Marazzo.
