All new 2018 Maruti Swift is off to a blistering start in India. In just 145 days, the car has registered sales of 1 lakh units. That’s a staggering 689 cars sold every single day since launch.

Available in a choice of petrol and diesel engine option, the new Maruti Swift is based on the HEARTECT platform, which is much stronger, yet lighter than precious platform. This has made the car’s overall weight lighter than before, but structurally, the car is much stronger than old Swift.
Price of the new Swift starts from Rs 4.99 lakhs for the petrol variant and Rs 5.99 lakhs for the diesel variant, ex-showroom, Delhi. Both options are offered with manual as well as automatic (AMT) transmission options. Mileage claimed by petrol is 22 kmpl while that by diesel is 28.4 kmpl, making it one of the best fuel efficient car on sale in the country.
Apart from cities, the new Swift has also experienced huge demand from rural India. Of the two, it is the petrol variant which are more in demand. Since its launch in 2005, cumulatively Swift has sold over 1.89 million units in India. Incidentally, Suzuki’s 20 millionth vehicle produced in India was also a Swift.
