2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 S revealed – Is the most powerful E Class ever

2018 Mercedes-AMG E63 & E63 S are powered by a more powerful 4.0 liter V8 engine mated to a 4MATIC four wheel drive. This engine on the base E63 offers 563 hp power and 553 lb/ft torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph is achieved in 3.4 seconds.

The E63S, which is the more powerful version sees this engine producing 604 hp power and 627 lb/ft torque allowing acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.3 seconds. Both models have a top speed of 250 kmph while the AMG Driver package raises top speed to 300 kmph.

Mercedes Benz E63 S receives Drift Mode as standard sending all power to rear wheels when activated. The car should be in Race mode with stability control turned off while transmission should be in manual shift mode. Stopping power is due to the presence of high performance braking system with 360mm disc with 6 pot calipers in front and 360mm discs with single pot calipers at the rear where E63 is concerned, going upto 390mm front discs on the S model. As an option, Mercedes Benz is also offering ceramic carbon discs measuring 402mm in front and 360mm at the rear.

Exteriors were noted with fresh styling. Wheel arches are .67” wider while wheels are also larger. A new front grille design with two louvers in silver chrome was evident on the showcased model along with vertical black struts and distinctive AMG badging. Mercedes Benz states that wide front fascia design has been inspired by jet wings.

More details and pricing will be revealed closer to debut in November at the 2016 LA Auto Show. Sales are set for Europe in March 2017 and across North America in the summer of 2017 while an estate version is also being planned for sometime next year.
