2018 Nissan Sunny sedan in the making – Will be launched in India next year
2018 Nissan Sunny will be based on the same platform as the new generation Micra hatch.
Set to be more spacious than its current counterpart, the new Sunny for India will be based on Nissan’s affordable CMF architecture. For the international markets, new gen Sunny will be based on the V platform, the same platform on which the new gen Micra hatchback is based.
Expected to get a sportier design, just like the new Micra, 2018 Sunny will also feature a range of powerful diesel and petrol engine options. It is reported that the new Sunny will get the same petrol and diesel engine options which are currently being offered with the Renault Duster SUV.
2018 Nissan Sunny will be even more spacious then the current variant, thanks to extended wheelbase. It will also get wider and shorter, contributing to better drive and handling. In terms of exterior design, the new Sunny will sport revised front bumpers, a signature V motion grille and deep character lines running from the top of the headlamps.
Interiors will also be refined, with updated dashboard with touchscreen infotainment system, new instrument cluster and new steering wheel with audio controls. Seats too will become plushier. Ideally suited for family car buyers in the country, the Nissan Sunny will compete with the new Hyundai Verna, Honda City and Maruti Ciaz upon launch.
While the current Nissan Sunny is priced from INR 7.91 lakhs, it is expected that there would not be much difference in pricing where the 2018 Nissan Sunny is concerned. More details will be revealed closer to launch.
