The second generation Renault Duster has been revealed officially. All-new 2017 Duster will be available in brand-new body colour, Atacama Orange. On the face of it, front grille extends to head lights positioned at the extreme corners to make the new 2018 Renault Duster look wider.
The light signature is new with LED DRLs divided in three sections. Horizontal bonnet crease lines draw out a robust picture. A larger scratch resistant satin-chrome-finish skid plate reinforces the car’s power prowess.
The higher side belt line impresses strength and occupant protection. A steeper windscreen, moved forward 100mm makes the cabin longer making it spacious. New aluminium roof bars extend the windscreen line. Profile dynamics are boosted with 17-inch wheels and prominent wheel arches. Black wing arch trims reinforce the spirit of adventure.
At the rear, horizontal lines and lights at the extreme corners boost Duster’s solid appearance. Dacia rear lighting signature of four red stacked squares is adapted for Duster. The rear satin-chrome-finish rear skid plate gets the same facelift as it’s front counterpart.
Launched at first as Dacia Duster, it entered the market as a Renault product in 2011 in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Chile and Colombia, and then Russia, and India. The wide myriad of offerings includes a Duster that can function optimally in extreme cold in Russia, a flex-fuel model for Brazil, and RHD from Renault India.
New gen Renault Duster is available as an all terrain capable 4×4, and a versatile all terrain 4×2 with a high-set driving position. Car weight stands at 1,160 kg for 4×2, and 1,250 kg for 4×4.
The adapted sub-frame is designed for on and off road driving with raised ground clearance of 210 mm, short overhang (822 mm at the front, 820 mm at the rear), and reduced crossing angles (30° angle of attack, 23° ramp angle, and 36° angle of departure).
To prove its all terrain ability, Duster has been put through the paces at Trophée Andros (France), Rallye des Gazelles (Morocco) and Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (USA).
Over two million units (Renault & Dacia) sold since launch, makes Duster a top-selling group/brand car. Between Dacia and Renault duster, the SUV is marketed in 100 countries. the new 2017 duster will be previewed at Frankfurt Motor Show on September 12.
