2018 Suzuki Gixxer, Gixxer SF SP Edition Gold and Black Colour launched

2018 Suzuki Gixxer SP and Gixxer SF SP editions have been launched in India. Price of Gixxer SP Edition starts from Rs 87,250, while that of the Gixxer SF SP Edition starts from Rs 1,00,630, ex-showroom, New Delhi.

The SP Editions of the street fighter and fully faired Gixxer variants are available in limited numbers. The Gixxer SP comes with ABS as standard where as the Gixxer SF SP Edition gets ABS + FI as standard.

Available in attractive gold and black colour combination with sporty decals, the duo also sport dual-tone red-black seats and red rim stripes. Rest of the body work and detailing appear to be identical to those of the regular models. We expect the Gixxer SP Edition to feature no mechanical changes.

The twins are powered by a 154.9 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that breathes via a carburetor on board the Gixxer, and via an FI on board the FI SP. Mated to a 5-speed gearbox, the engine produces 14.8 PS and 14 Nm of torque.

The Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF are underpinned by a tubular steel frame which holds engine as a stressed member. Suspension system is composed of conventional front telescopic fork and rear monoshock unit. The 17-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in 110/80 (front) and 140/60R (rear) section tyres. The Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF SP editions are equipped with front and rear disc brakes.

Mr Sajeev Rajasekharan, Executive Vice President, SMIPL said, “Since its launch in India in 2014, the Gixxer brand has metamorphosed into a synonym that embodies Suzuki’s attributes of quality, styling and performance. It is a true reflection of our DNA in developing performance motorcycles of superior quality; and backed by cutting-edge technology. It is our constant effort to reinvigorate the Gixxer portfolio with new freshness and value. We are confident that with the new 2018 special edition series, this exciting ride is set to continue.”
