2018 Toyota Rush compact SUV makes global debut

2018 Toyota Rush compact SUV has made its global debut in Indonesia. Featuring best in class safety and comfort features, this new generation compact SUV is touted for India debut as well, most likely at the 2018 Auto Expo in February next year.

The new Toyota Rush comes in with a more aggressive design and added features as compared to its earlier counterpart which is the reason for its higher pricing. The new Rush gets a large front chrome grille, LED headlamps and DRLs.

It gets electronic retractable mirrors with LED turn indicators, 16” alloy wheels, a shark fin antenna, rear spoiler and higher ground clearance at 220mm are among its notable exteriors features. Interiors spell class and comfort with a dual tone beige and black finish, a 7” touchscreen infotainment system with USB and smartphone compatibility via Miracast and Weblink. Keyless entry, push button start and ABS, EBD, Hill Start, Stability Control and 6 airbags are among its safety features.

2018 Toyota Rush gets powered by a 2 NR-VE, 4 cylinder, Dual VVT-I petrol engine offering 104 PS peak power and 13.9 kgm torque. This engine is mated with a 5 speed manual transmission as standard though buyers can also opt for a 4 speed automatic. Though not officially launched in the country, buyers across Indonesia can register their interest at official Daihatsu and Toyota Indonesia websites.

The 7 seater compact SUV, will first be launched in Indonesia. Here it has been priced from IDR 300 million (INR 14.36 lakh) for the base mode. The top of the line TRD Sportivo variant is priced from IDR 400 million (INR 19.15 lakh). Sales will commence from early next year.
