2019 Audi A6 India launch on 24 Oct – Teaser video reveals LED tail light

Already launched in international markets, all new gen Audi A6 initial examples have started rolling into company showrooms across the country. Launch date is 24th October. Images are credit to Trak.in.

As compared to the outgoing 7th gen Audi A6, the new 8th gen model will see increased dimensions. It will be 7mm longer, 12mm wider and 2mm taller as compared to its outgoing counterpart to now measure 4,939 mm in length, 1,886 mm in width and 1,457 mm in height. It will also get exterior and interior updates while engine updates and compliance to new BS VI emission standards is also on the cards.

2019 Audi A6 will receive a new design language which is also seen on the Audi Prologue concept models. It will receive a wider hexagonal grille upon which the four rings are positioned, HD Matrix LED headlamps which uses multiple LED beams. These are intelligently powered for superior illumination.

The new A6 also gets free standing mirrors and sits on 18” partly polished alloy wheels. Rear has also been updated to sport a sharper design language and a new tail gate. The tail lamps use 9 vertically stacked signature elements in a single horizontal line and connected by a chrome strip.

Interior design features are similar to that seen on the Audi A7 and A8 with dual display, 10.1” infotainment system and an 8.6” display for climate control and other readouts. It also gets an advanced Bang & Olufsen 3D Sound System, 4 zone air conditioning for passengers at the front and rear to individually set their preferred temperatures.

2019 Audi A6 is expected to get a new 2.0 liter, 4 cylinder petrol engine that offers 245 hp power and 370 Nm torque mated to an S-tronic dual clutch transmission. The engine is BS VI compliant. Acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph can be achieved in 6.8 seconds.

While the outgoing Audi A6 was priced at Rs.50.01 lakhs, the updates and new features on the new gen model could push prices up to around Rs.55 lakhs. Like its earlier counterpart, the new Audi A6 will continue its rivalry against the Mercedes Benz E-Class and the BMW 5 Series.
