With new safety standards coming into effect and ABS being made mandatory on all bikes with engine above 125cc, Bajaj Auto is actively testing the new Pulsar 150 which will most likely receive single channel ABS.
The motorcycle has been spied on test drawing attention to the front disc brakes with ABS rings. Thanks to this addition, expect prices to increase by about Rs 7k over its current price.
The new Bajaj Pulsar 150 ABS will continue to sport the same design elements which include a dual color scheme, clip on handlebars, tubeless tyres and LED tail lamps. It is also seen with Automatic Headlamp On, a contoured seat, clip on handle bars, laser edge graphics and an analogue-digital instrument console with trip meter and clock.
Its suspension system will comprise of conventional telescopic forks in the front and twin gas charge shock absorbers at the rear. It continues to sport a 15 liter fuel tank and spy shots also reveal 80/100-17 front and 100/90-17 rear tyres.
Bajaj Pulsar 150 gets a BS VI ready engine. This 149cc, air cooled engine on its current counterpart offers 14 PS power and 13.4 Nm torque mated to a 5 speed gearbox which will be tweaked for added power and performance and lower emissions.
Bajaj Pulsar 150 Twin Disc currently retails at Rs 77,555; while the ABS variant could come in with a price tag of around Rs 85,000. It will continue to compete against the Honda CB Unicorn 150, Suzuki Gixxer ABS and Honda CB Hornet 160R ABS. Bajaj Auto Limited is also expected to update the Discover, V range and Avenger lineup with ABS in the coming months.
