After updating the Bajaj Pulsar 150 and the Classic 150, Bajaj has now added updates to the Pulsar 220. The bikes have started arriving at dealerships, and deliveries have also started in some cities. Popular Youtube channel Dino’s Vault is one of the first to do a first look video of the 2019 Bajaj Pulsar 220.
2019 Bajaj Pulsar 220 comes with design updates and an engine cowl, refined engine and better seats. Unfortunately, it does not get the update which most of us are waiting for – ABS. Though the Pulsar 220 ABS has already been spied on test, it has not been launched yet.
2019 Bajaj Pulsar 220 is seen in two colours in the video. First is Black with red accents, the other is Black with blue accents. The coloured accents are seen on the alloys, mud guard, engine cowl, and at the rear – under the pillion seat.
Other design features include faux carbon fiber covers on the side, engine case finished in matte black, the same matte black finish is seen on the other metal parts, like pillion grab rails, alloys, etc. Watch the first walkaround of new Pulsar 220 below. Apart from improved design, the new Bajaj Pulsar 220F has also got minor mechanical updates. For eg, clutch pull has been improved, gear shifts are smoother, etc. Riding comfort too has improved. Seat design is same, but comfort has been improved.
Powering the new Pulsar 220 is the same 220 cc single cylinder oil cooled DTSi engine. This engine delivers 20.93 PS @ 8500 rpm and 18.55 Nm @ 7000. Transmission is via 5 speed gearbox. Braking is via single 260 mm disc in the front, while rear gets 230 mm disc. Tyres in the front are 90/90 while at the rear you have 120/80. Both are tubeless, are are wrapped around 6 spoke alloys.
Price of the new Pulsar 220 is about Rs 99k, ex-showroom, Delhi. Speaking about the ABS variant of Pulsar 220, expect it to be launched early next year. Price of ABS variant could be about Rs 1.1 lakhs.
