2019 Datsun Go and Go Plus get segment-first Vehicle Dynamic Control tech

Datsun India has updated their Go and Go Plus model for 2019. The latest update adds a new safety feature called Vehicle Dynamic Control. In addition to this, you also get a new colour option to chose from, and it is Vivid Blue (exclusively for the Go model).

Both Datsun GO and GO+ have stylishly designed exteriors, featuring uniquely patterned LED DRLs, dynamic hexagon grille, striking hawk-eye headlamps, body coloured bumpers, ORVM and door handles, diamond cut 14-inch alloys, and dual tone wheel covers. Price of new Datsun Go ranges from Rs 3.22 lakhs to Rs 5.02 lakhs, while that of Go Plus ranges from Rs 3.87 lakhs to Rs 5.74 lakhs. All prices are ex-sh.

Datsun GO has a sporty urbane theme accentuated interiors with black fabric seat upholstery, all black instrument panel, carbon fibre interior inserts, and piano black C Cluster with silver accent. Datsun GO+ has premium dual-tone accentuated interiors with 5+2 seating configuration. Both cars feature spacious interiors and they have anti-fatigue seats that provide superior comfort.

Both cars have supervision instrument cluster that has digital tachometer, analogue tachometer, trip computer MID, and 3D graphical blue ring. Warning and indicators include gear shift, low fuel and driver seat belt indicator. Multi information display (MID) has digital clock, dual trip meter, average vehicle speed and engine running time.

Both Datsun GO and GO+ have 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Google map navigation. Infotainment system is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other features include SMS, WhatsApp and email integration, voice recognition, HD video playback, Bluetooth connectivity, radio, and USB & aux-in connectivity.

2019 Datsun Go Plus

Datsun GO measures 3788 mm in length, 1636 mm in width and 1507 mm in height. It has wheelbase – 2450 mm, ground clearance – 180 mm and 265 litres of luggage space. Datsun GO+ has the same width and height and its length is 3995 mm. Wheelbase and ground clearance are also the same, but luggage space is more at 347 litres (with 3rd row folded).

Both Datsun GO and GO+ are powered by a 1198cc, 3 cylinder, naturally aspirated 12V DOHC EFI petrol engine that delivers max power of 68 PS @ 5000 RPM and max torque of 104 Nm @ 4000 RPM. Engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. As per ARAI, mileage is 19.83 kmpl for the MT variant.

Datsun has introduced some major safety upgrades, in line with the new norms mandated under Bharat New Vehicle Safety Assessment Program. Both Datsun GO and GO+ come with dual airbags, ABS + EBD with Brake Assist, rear parking assist sensors, central locking, and engine immobilizer. These are offered as standard across all variants. Top variants of GO and GO+ also have keyless entry.
