Ducati has unveiled the new 2019 Ducati Hypermotard 950 and Hypermotard 950 SP. Both these bikes have made public debut at the 2018 EICMA Show in Milan being held from 6-11 November 2018. These new bikes are lighter and faster than before. They get notable feature updates giving it a more contemporary stance.
The new Ducati Hypermotard now sports wider handlebars, slimmer mid section, a sleeker seat and a new trellis frame. The subframe significantly contributes to lower overall weight. In terms of performance, the Hypermotard 950’s get Ride by Wire throttle and 6 axis Bosch Inertial Measurement Unit.
Rider aids also include three riding modes of Sport, Touring and Urban while Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control and Bosch braking and Cornering ABS also contributes to efficient handling and performance.
Riding comforts are also augmented by fully adjustable 48mm Ohlins forks and rear shock absorber while the SP gets 15mm more travel in the front and 25mm added travel at the rear. The Hypermotrad 950 SP also receives forced Marchesini wheels, Ducati Quick Shift along with a performance inspired seat and Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tyres. The bikes seen in Ducati Red with a red frame and black wheel rims also receive front LED DRLs, front and rear LED auto off indication, anti theft system, heated grips and a 14.5 liter fuel tank. Seat height is at 870mm while kerb weight is at 200 kgs.
Engine specifications on the 2019 Ducati Hypermotard 950 and Hypermotard 950 SP include a 937cc, L Twin Testastretta 11° engine offering 114 bhp peak power at 9,000 rpm and 96 Nm torque. Valve adjustment intervals are now at 30,000 kms.
Apart from the 2019 Ducati Hypermotard 950 and Hypermotard 950 SP, Ducati also showed off the Panigale V4 R and Diavel 1260. Following its showcasing at Milan, the Hypermotard 950 could also be launched in India in early 2019.
