2019 Honda Activa 5G is the best selling scooter in India. But over the past few months, sales of the Activa 5G have been on a decline. In order to boost sales, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India have launched a special edition, which not only is attractive, but also gets new features.
Priced just Rs 400 more than the standard Activa 5G, the limited edition scooter comes in two new dual tone colour options which include Pearl Precious White with Matte Selene Silver and Strontium Silver Metallic with Pearl Igneous Black.
Other features include new chrome garnish giving the Activa 5G a more premium appeal. The scooter also sports chrome metal muffler cover, a reworked seat design while it also receives new side panels and pin stripes on the front fender. Now, Honda has launched a new TVC video, which details their new scooter.
Safety features include a Combined Braking System with Equalizer, and Honda’s 4-in-1 locking system. This means that once the key is inserted in the slot, the rider can unlock steering, seat and petrol tank in one go. The mechanism also houses a start-release button and there is no need to take the key out to open the seat.
On board features also include new LED position lamp and headlamp which are brighter than that seen on the regular model. It sports a digital analog instrument console, a front hold and retractable rear hook and a USB port under the seat for charging smartphones while the most desired feature is a Service Due indicator.
Limited Edition decal on the side body panel indicates its exclusivity. There are no changes in engine specifications and the Honda Activa 5G continues to be powered by a 109.1cc engine offering 8 hp power and 9 Nm torque mated to a CVT gearbox. It gets trail link suspension in the front and monoshock at the rear while braking is handled by drum brakes at both ends.
Prices of the limited edition Honda Activa 5G are priced at Rs.400 over the regular STD and DLX variants. The dual tone Honda Activa STD variant is now priced at Rs.55,032 while the DLX variant carries a price tag of Rs.58,897. In this price range, the Honda Activa 5G continues its rivalry against the TVS Jupiter and Hero Maestro 110.
