2019 Hyundai Elantra facelift spied in white and blue – LED tail light revealed

2019 Hyundai Elantra has been spied testing in Hyderabad ahead of launch slated for some time in September. The Elantra sedan will come in with several changes both where its exterior and interior design elements are concerned and also in terms of safety features. Spy shots are credit to automotive enthusiasts Krishna Goyal and Dr Abish kk.

These exterior changes will include a new cascading front grille, redesigned front and rear bumpers, triangular shaped LED headlamps, LED fog lamps and new alloy wheels. It will also receive a new spoiler on its boot end and tail lamps in a new LED pattern.

Interiors of the new Elantra sedan also get updated. It receives a new steering wheel, digital meters, and an 8” touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and BlueLink. As seen on its outgoing counterpart, it will retain its powered and ventilated front seats which receive memory function.

In accordance with new safety regulations, the 2019 Hyundai Elantra has been updated. It will come in with a total of 6 airbags, driver attention alert system, rear view camera with a 360 degree camera and front parking sensors.

It also receives some radar assisted features along with front seat belt warning and speed alert. Forward collision avoidance, lane keeping assist and steering mounted controls could also be a part of its safety updates.

Hyundai Elantra facelift will be powered by the same petrol and diesel engines as is seen on its current counterpart. The 2.0 liter petrol engine offers 149.5 PS power at 6,200 rpm and 192 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm. The 1.6 liter CRDi diesel engine offers 128 PS power at 4,000 rpm and 260 Nm torque at 1,900-2,750 rpm. The engines get mated to a 6 speed manual or 6 speed automatic.

2019 Hyundai Elantra will continue its rivalry against the Honda Civic, Skoda Octavia and the Toyota Corolla. No prices of the facelift have been announced as on date but will most likely fall within a price range of Rs 14-20 lakhs. In the meantime, Hyundai dealers are keen to get rid of existing stocks of the pre facelift model. These dealers are offering cash discounts upto Rs.1.25 lakhs and exchange bonus of Rs.70,000 taking total discount upto Rs.2 lakhs on a brand new Elantra current model.
