After three years of launching their flagship motorcycle, Kawasaki is back with an updated Ninja H2. 2019 Kawasaki Ninja H2 has got some serious updates, which will make the current H2 feel outdated. One of the biggest update is the addition of 31 hp. Yes, the current bike generates 200 horses, while the 2019 variant delivers 231 hp. Making it the most powerful production motorcycle in the world (the title belonged to Panigale V4 with 214 hp until today).
Key components to the increase in power include a new air filter, intake chamber and spark plugs. Apart from the engine update, the supercharged sportsbike also gets ‘self-healing’ paint job. This paint will heal itself from scratches and marks when the temperature is raised to required amount. Details will be mentioned in the brochure.
The new Kawasaki Ninja H2 borrows technology and ECU from the recently launched Ninja H2SX sports tourer. It also gets the Brembo ‘Stylema’ front brake calipers (first seen on the Ducati Panigale V4), improving the braking performance of the bike significantly. It also gets new Battlax RS11 sport tyres (12/70-17 front, 200/55-17 rear). Other new features include – all LED lighting. Kerb wt at 238 kgs.
Instrument control has also been updated, and it now looks more like the one on H2SX. The digital console now comes with TFT technology (bluetooth connectivity) and is also compatible with ‘Rideology’ app. This is a new app which was launched during H2SX that allows you to get all the data of your bike on your smartphone, including GPS location, ride time, ride speed, engine temperature, top speed, service interval, etc.
Kenji Nagahara, MD, Kawasaki Europe said – “The visual impact and engineering prowess of the Ninja H2 will surely increase thanks to this major update. This Supercharged machine is the physical embodiment of our corporate strength. The addition of more power, smart phone “Rideology” technology and other specification upgrades for 2019 shows that, as a company, we are constantly pushing the boundaries of what is possible and delivering cutting edge motorcycles to the market.”
