Kawasaki India has announced the launch of its MY (model year) 2019 Z650. With influences from Kawasaki Sugomi, Z650 is a stunner with a powerful engine, and there’s the sharp contour lines and smart design. In its new avatar, Kawasaki 2019 Z650 wears noticeable graphic changes on its rear cowl and tank.
Yutaka Yamashita, Managing Director of India Kawasaki Motors Pvt. Ltd, said, “In this festive season we already have launched Versys 650 and Z900 of MY2019. Now we are introducing Z650 MY2019 as it is one of our best versatile bikes. It is commendable for long tours, useful in traffic and good on the track also.”
In terms of mechanics, Z650 MY 2019 retains its 650cc liquid-cooled parallel twin DOHC engine with 8 valves and six-speed gearbox. The engine’s tuned to return 67bhp of power and 66Nm of torque. Z650 chassis frame weighs 15 kg, which is crucial to the bike’s light, nimble handling.
2019 Kawasaki Z650 is fitted with 300mm dual disc brakes with dual-piston calipers in the front. 220mm single-piston calipers are put to work in the rear. On the suspension front, Z650 features 41mm telescopic front forks and rear monoshock.
ABS, Assist & slipper clutch and economical riding indicator are standard features on the Kawasaki Z650. Ride ergonomics and suspension make for a comfortable and confident ride. The mid-weight naked class is now available for a price of Rs 5,29,000 ex-showroom Delhi. That’s an increased price of about Rs 10,000 from the outgoing model, which was launched in India in March 2017 (MY 2017), and replaced the Er-6n.
2019 Kawasaki Z650 colour choices include Metallic Flat Spark Black / Metallic Spark Black colour. Bookings are now open naked bike, which takes on Hyosung Aquila Pro 650, Benelli TNT600i, Harley-Davidson Street 750, and Kawasaki Vulcan S as competition on price front.
