In spite of manufacturing in India for years, the entry level RC 125 was never on sale in India. It was exclusively for exports. The reason, there was no demand. But that changed when KTM launched Duke 125, and saw the amazing response.
Thanks to the success of KTM Duke 125, today KTM India has launched the RC 125 for a starting price of Rs 1.47 lakhs – making it the most affordable KTM fully faired motorcycle on sale in India. Bookings have opened at company dealerships at a down payment of Rs.5,000 with deliveries to start from end of June.
Sumeet Narang, Vice President (Probiking) at Bajaj Auto Ltd. said “KTM motorcycles are built to a purpose of winning performance and handling. It is no different with the RC 125 which will provide a true KTM experience to the motorcycle enthusiast seeking to enter our Supersport world. It carries Moto GP genes from its sibling, the much celebrated RC16.”
KTM RC125 shares its components with the larger RC bikes, especially the RC 200. It sits on a steel trellis framework and receives features such as dual projector headlamps, clip on handlebars, split seats, rear view mirrors and an underbelly exhaust system.
New RC125 is on offer with two new exciting colour options. It sits on 17”alloy wheels fitted with tubeless tyres measuring 110/70-R17 front and 150/60-R17 rear.
KTM RC125 gets the same engine that powers the 125 Duke. This 124cc, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine offers 14.3 bhp power at 9,250 rpm and 12 Nm torque at 8,000 rpm mated to a 6 speed gearbox.
Suspension is via upside down forks in the front and monoshocks at the rear while braking is via 300mm disc in the front and 230 mm disc at the rear. Single channel ABS and rear lift mitigation will be offered as standard tipping the scales at 154.2 kgs.
Sharing the winning potential as the rest of the RC range the KTM RC 125 is set to offer a premium big-bike feel and has been launched at an introductory price of Rs. 147,213 (ex-showroom Delhi). Bookings commence today across 470 exclusive KTM showrooms in the country with deliveries starting end of June.
