2019 Maruti Ertiga sales cross 61k in 8 months – Grows 60 percent

Launched back in November 2018, new generation Maruti Ertiga sales have now crossed the 61k mark, in just 8 months. In comparison, sales of the old Ertiga in the same period (Nov 2017 to June 2018), stood at 38k units. This implies sales of new Ertiga has increased by 60%.

This is no easy feat. At a time like these, when the entire auto industry is registering decline in sales; the new Ertiga is plowing through as if there is no decline. In comparison, Toyota Innova Crysta sales have declined by 8% in the same period. Innova Crysta sales in the last 8 months stood at 47k units.

A strong sales performance has resulted in the Ertiga urban MPV command pole position in the segment. Maruti Ertiga monthly sales average at 7,665 units to gain a strong reputation as the best-selling MPV. Owing to its leadership position, and sales performance, MSIL able to concentrate on customer needs.

Maruti Ertiga 60k sales

In encouraging its green tech footprint in India, Maruti Suzuki India has announced its factory-fitted CNG-powered Ertiga. CNG option is available in the VXI variant. Mileage stands at 26.20 km/kg and reduces cost per kilometre. It is available for both taxi and passenger segment. Based on VXi trim, it is about Rs 70k more expensive than the regular Ertiga. Price for Ertiga CNG starts from Rs 8.82 lakh.

Ertiga safety features include dual airbags, high speed warning alert, front seat belt with pre-tensioners and force limiters, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, ABS with EBD and brake assist and reverse parking sensors as standard fitment across all variants. In its current avatar, Ertiga is longer (4,395 mm), wider (1,735 mm) and taller (1,690 mm). Interior comfort extends to third-row reclining seats, extra head room, and the cooling cup holders.

Boot space is larger by 55 percent with three rows up, and about 9 percent more with two rows folded down. Dual tone interiors, and a sculpted dashboard with maple wood finish and chrome accents make for interior craftsmanship. A leather wrapped flat bottom steering wheel with easy access controls makes driving convenient.

In the MPV segment, Ertiga is the only vehicle to now be offered with a factory-fitted CNG kit. With this comes standard warranty benefits and Maruti Suzuki’s service network. Ertiga CNG maximises performance with dual ECU (engine control unit) with intelligent-gas port injection system. This enables active pick up and superior drivability.

Seeing the sales success, Maruti will launch an even more premium variant of Ertiga, called XL6. It will be a 6 seater variant, with captain seats in the middle row. It aims to woo Toyota Innova Crysta customers, with its premium features. Maruti XL6 will be sold via Nexa. Launch is on 21st Aug.
