2019 Mercedes E Class LWB BS6 petrol, diesel launch price Rs 57.5 lakh

When it comes to the luxury executive sedan, Mercedes-Benz points to 41,000 units having graced Indian streets since 1995. A bestseller in its segment, now in its 10th gen avatar, the vehicle sports new interior bits and feature additions. All variants sport the same luxurious interiors in vertical stitching pattern on the seats. Floor carpet colour and upper dashboard in ARTICO contrast with upholstery colour adds a touch of luxury. High quality velour floor mats are added.

New features include an intuitive rear touchpad, and Burmester high-end surround sound system in the Exclusive variants. The widescreen digital cockpit, (12.3 inch) instrument display screen has 3 display styles. Classic style displays info oriented towards that of an analogue instrument cluster, with the possibilities available with digital displays. Sport style features yellow highlights and a sporty design. Progressive setting embodies a futuristic style.

Rear wireless charger on Exclusive variants are a convenience feature. The stowage compartment between the seats is an inductive charging area. All Qi standard mobile devices are supported. Exclusive variants are also fitted with a rear touchscreen to control media, climate and vehicle functionalities for convenience.

Safety features include ESP Curve Dynamic Assist, Full LED Headlamps, PRE-SAFE, Parking Pilot with Active Parking Assist PARKTRONIC and reversing camera, Adaptive brake lights, and Dual front airbags, Front side airbags, Curtain airbags, knee bag for driver (7 overall).

E 220 d gets power from a OM 654 1950 cc, in-line 4 diesel engine returns max power of 143 kW (194 hp) and 400 Nm of torque, and goes from 0 -100 km/h in 7.3 seconds. E 200 features the M 264 engine 1991 cc and returns max power of 145 kW (197 hp) and 320 Nm of torque, and zooms from 0 -100 in 8 seconds.

Mercedes-Benz India rolled-out the brand’s first made in India BSVI vehicle back in January 2018. As the country moves towards mandated BSVI emission norms from April 2020, introduction of the LWB E-Class BSVI model reiterates the brand’s commitment towards the new emission norms.

On the cost front, new E 200 Expression is available at a price of Rs 57,50,000; E 200 Exclusive at Rs 61,50,000; E 220 d Expression at Rs 58,50,000; and E 220 d Exclusive at Rs 62,50,000. All prices are ex-sh. The company is confident the vehicle will continue to be a growth driver for Mercedes-Benz India.
