2019 Skoda Superb facelift first images leak ahead of debut

The third generation Skoda Superb which was launched in 2015, will soon get a facelift. Ahead of official debut, which is slated for 2019 Geneva Motor Show in March, first images of the luxury sedan have now been leaked.

2019 Skoda Superb facelift has been spied on test on a number of occasions, each time with heavy camouflage. This latest sighting was without any camouflage, which drew attention to its revamped exteriors.

We can clearly see the new front bumper, cutouts for parking sensors, a new grille and revamped headlamps. The lighting clusters will meet with the sides of the signature butterfly grille to give the impression of a more expansive front fascia.

There will also be Bi-xenon units, fog lamps and a chrome bar. The rear of the new Skoda also receives some changes with LED tail lamps and sharper graphics. The new Skoda will sit on newly designed alloy wheels. Interiors of the 2019 Skoda Superb will also receive some updates especially where technology is concerned though comfort and convenience features will also be updated.

2019 Skoda Superb, the first Skoda model to receive a plug in hybrid powertrain, will be powered by a 1.4 liter TSI petrol engine offering 156 PS power and a 115 PS electric motor. This will offer combined output of 217 PS with the electric motor getting a 12 kWh battery pack that will offer an all electric range of 70km. The other engine options will also make its way to the updated model complying with BS VI emission norms. The 1.8 liter TSI petrol engine offers 180 bhp power and 320 Nm torque while the 2.0 liter TDI diesel is currently capable of 177 bhp power and 350 Nm torque.

Launch of the updated Skoda Superb in India sometime later this year will see the model rival with the likes of the Honda Accord, VW Passat and the new Toyota Camry.
