2019 Suzuki Gixxer 155cc facelift has been spotted at a dealership drawing attention to its feature updates. Set for launch in the days ahead, three new colour options are seen with the 2019 Gixxer. 2019 Suzuki Gixxer gets significant feature updates and will be seen in monotone as well as dual tone colour options. One is an all black, other is all silver and the third is Black with Blue.
New Gixxer has been noted with a new headlamp design with an LED setup, a new fuel tank design with extensions giving the bike a more muscular stance, split seats grab handles and new LED tail lamps.
It is also said to sport a new instrument cluster with white back light as against the orange backlit seen on its earlier counterpart. Gixxer 155 will receive a 12 liter fuel tank and will sit on 17” black alloy wheels fitted with 100/80R-17 front and 140/60R-17 rear tyres. Images credit to Youtube channel Bappa ahammed.
Engine specifications stay the same on the 2019 Suzuki Gixxer 155 naked bike as is seen on its fully faired model, which was launched last month. The 154.9cc, air cooled, single cylinder, SOHC, FI engine is capable of 14.1 PS power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm torque at 6,000 rpm mated to a 5 speed transmission. In compliance to new emission norms, the engine will be BS VI compliant.
Suspension will be via telescopic fork in the front and monoshock at the rear while braking will be via single disc each at the front and rear. Suzuki will be offering single channel ABS system with the upcoming Gixxer, so as to ensure competitive pricing.
Considering these feature updates, the 2019 Suzuki Gixxer 155 could be priced higher as compared to its current counterpart. Prices could start from about Rs 1 lakh, ex-sh, which is about Rs 10,000 15,000 more than the current Gixxer 155 naked. It will compete with Yamaha FZ V3.0, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar 160NS and Honda CB Hornet 160R in India.
Suzuki Motorcycle India has reported a 29 percent increase in sales in June 2019. During the past month, the company sold a total of 67,491 units as against 52,217 units sold in the same month of the previous year. Domestic sales increased 22 percent from 46,717 units sold in June 2018 to 57,023 units sold last month. June 2019 also saw the company launch the new Gixxer SF series which included Gixxer SF 250cc and Gixxer SF 155.
