2019 Suzuki Gixxer

2019 Suzuki Gixxer 155, set for launch in the coming weeks, has been detailed, thanks to leaked spy shots. Spotted undisguised at a dealership, where the new Gixxer has arrived for mechanic training; the leaked images credit to Instagram account @s_f__k_i_d, give a fair idea of what changes this naked facelift will get.

Though the new Gixxer borrows heavily from its outgoing counterpart, it does receive some updated features. It gets a new LED headlamp unit with a silver frame in a strikingly better design as compared to that seen on the halogen unit of its outgoing counterpart.

The Gixxer 155 also receives feature updates in terms of a new LED tail lamps, stepped up seating, body coloured split grab handles and a redesigned, white back lit digital instrument console taking the place of its orange backlit unit. The fuel tank sports a more muscular design with broad shoulder lines while tank shrouds receive a sharper stance. It will be offered in dual tone colour options. Thanks to these changes, the bike looks a lot sportier than before.

2019 Suzuki Gixxer 155 naked bike will get powered by the same engine as is seen on its full faired counterpart. This 154.9cc, air cooled, single cylinder, SOHC, 2 valve, FI engine offers 14.1 PS power at 8,000 rpm and 14 Nm torque at 6,000 rpm mated to a 5 speed transmission. The engine will be BS VI compliant, to meet new emission standards coming into effect in the country.

2019 Gixxer 155 will go on sale along with the new Gixxer 250 and both these bikes are a follow up to the 2019 Suzuki Gixxer SF and Gixxer SF 250 which were launched earlier this year. The Gixxer 155 is slated to come in at a slightly higher price as compared to its outgoing model. Prices should start at around Rs.92,000-95,000, allowing it to compete with the Yamaha FZ V3.0, TVS Apache RTR 160 4V, Bajaj Pulsar 160NS and the Honda CB Hornet 160R.
