2019 Tata 45X spied with 4 disc brakes – More premium than Tiago, Nexon

Spied testing in production ready format, is the all new 2019 Tata 45X premium hatchback. The latest spy shots were clicked in Ooty, where the car was on test. Even though 45X was under heavy camouflage, despite which certain design elements have been revealed.

Showcased as a concept at the 2018 Auto Expo, Tata 45X, as it is named as on date, gears up for launch in India. This premium hatchback will be based on the new Alpha platform and will get the company’s new Impact Design 2.0 design philosophy.

The latest spy shots detail the front look of the 2019 45X. It gets sleeker headlamps with projector lamps and LED DRLs. It also gets large air dam, and sharp looking fog lights. The front of the car is low-slung, giving it a much sportier stance. On the sides are 4 spoke alloy wheels.

From the side, the car gives the impression of being longer than it is. The C pillar flows into the tailgate in a similar design pattern as seen on the Volvo V40 hatchback. Tata 45X interiors will get some top quality materials.

It will receive a sporty dashboard design with a floating touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It will get silver accents on its steering wheel with mounted controls, an 8 speaker Harmon audio system and electrically adjustable wing mirrors. Where safety is concerned, the Tata 45X will get ABS with EBD, dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, seatbelt reminder and speed alert system as standard.

Engine specifications could include a 1.2 liter Revotron petrol engine and 1.5 liter Revotorq diesel engine as is also seen on the Tata Nexon offering similar power and torque figures. The engines will be mated to a 6 speed manual while a dual clutch automatic is also on the cards.

Price of the Tata 45X could range between Rs 6-9 lakhs. In terms of competition, the 45X premium hatchback will compete with Maruti Baleno and Hyundai i20 when launched in India by the end of 2019.
