Harrier’s commercial production is planned by end of 2018 after road tests have been completed. Launch and deliveries have been announced for early 2019. Test models currently being evaluated in actual road conditions have been spotted at various locations, including Leh, Ladakh, and these provide definitive clues about Harrier’s design.

Earlier this week, enthusiast at Team-BHP managed to click the first photo of Tata Harrier test mule wearing production ready headlight and tail light. Now, Cartoq has managed to create a new rendering of this SUV based on the latest spy shot – giving fans and awaiting buyers an idea of how the new SUV would look.

The latest image set reveals the Tata Harrier is a 5-seater monocoque SUV’s lighting element, fitted with production ready LED headlights, which is most likely to be used as Daytime Running Lamps (DRLs), and tail lights. A new cluster of lamps has been added under the LED stripes and this assembly will comprise the low and high beam lamps. There’s also talk about Harrier having the dynamic bending reflectors on the corners, which is designed to provide improved visibility.

One of Harrier’s USP is that it will be the first Tata car on OMEGA platform. Harrier’s chassis is new, even though it derives some inspiration from the likes of Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque. Under the hood, there’s FCA’s 2.0-litre Multijet engine, which powers Jeep Compass. The engine for Harrier will be tuned to deliver 140 PS.

Harrier will be available in both manual and automatic variants mated to a 6-speed transmission. It features a 4WD unit integrated with a Terrain Response system for improved manoeuvrability. Premium features such as leather seats and high-endcar audio system can also be added to Harrier. Speaking about price, expect the Tata Harrier to be priced in the range of Rs 13-16 lakhs.
