2019 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo TVC revealed – India launch soon

Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo, designed and developed by Toyota Racing Development, is getting ready for India launch. It sports many updates in terms of design, and new colour options.

Exterior updates include a redesigned front grille, new bumper design at the front and rear and distinctive TRD badge. It also gets a new front spoiler, fog lamp enclosures and sits on new alloy wheels. The new Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo is now offered in 6 new colour options of Super White, Silver Metallic, Dark Gray Mica Metallic, Attitude Black, Avant-garde Bronze Metallic and Phantom Brown Metallic.

2019 Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo measures 4,795 mm in length, 1,855 mm in width and 1,835 mm in height with wheelbase measuring 2,745mm. It gets ground clearance of 193mm. Styling and equipment offered on the new Sportivo variant differs as per markets.

In Indonesia, it is offered with petrol and diesel engine options, the Toyota TRD Sportivo gets a 2.7 liter Dual VVT-i petrol engine and 2.4 liter 2GD-FTV diesel engine. The petrol engine offers 163 PS power at 3,400 rpm and 242.22 Nm torque at 4,000 rpm.

The diesel engine is capable of 149.6 PS power at 3,400 rpm and 400 Nm torque at 1,600-2,000 rpm. Both these engines get mated to a 6 speed manual and 6 speed automatic transmission options. The diesel engine can also be had with a 4WD system as an option.

The Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo variant was also showcased in India with launch slated for September 2019. It will sport a different design with chrome accents on the front grille as against a silver finish seen on its Indonesia, Thailand, UAE spec counterpart. Bumper design and fog lamp casing also differs. Interiors of the India spec Fortuner Sportivo will be seen with a red and black colour scheme, an instrument console with TRD Sportivo animation and a key fob also with the similar TRD treatment.

The international spec Toyota Fortuner TRD Sportivo variant is offered with 11 speaker audio system from JBL, larger disc brakes, 20” black alloy wheels TRD suspension and contrasting black and red leather seating.

The India spec model will also get powered exclusively by a diesel engine. This 2.8 liter engine offers 174 hp power and 450 Nm torque mated to a 6 speed manual or 6 speed automatic transmission and in 2WD and 4WD options. Positioned at the top of the Toyota Fortuner lineup, price in India is expected at Rs.35 lakhs. Launch is pegged for September 2019.
