The Auto Expo in India is a major automotive event, not only in India, but in the global automotive world. It is a biennial auto show that is one of the largest in Asia. It is a show that every automaker in the country and in global markets looks up on with anticipation.
Like the earlier edition, this time round also, the 2020 Auto Expo will be held at two locations. The vehicle show will be conducted from 7th to 12th February 2020 at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, UP, while the components exhibition will be held from 6th to 9th February 2020 at the Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
As per the timetable released, the inauguration will be held on 6th February followed by Media Day and special invitee categories. 6th to 8th will be for Business Visitors while on 9th onwards, the Auto Expo will be opened for the general public. Timings for the show will be from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm on all days.
The exhibitors list is yet to be announced but would include all leading automakers in India, in addition to global automakers. The 2020 Auto Expo will see a wide range of two and four wheelers on display across various segments.
The show will also see the latest in-car technology being demonstrated while automakers such as Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Toyota, Mahindra, Kia, Renault, Honda and Tata Motors will have their upcoming models on display. In the premium segment, Mercedes Benz along with other global automakers would be in attendance while there will also be a range of electric and hybrid cars on display.
2020 Auto Expo is being organised by Automotive Component Manufacturers Association of India (ACMA), Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) and Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).
Some of the main highlights of the show will include the production ready variant of Tata H2X mini SUV, and the new generation Hyundai Creta. The former will be making its global debut, while the latter will be making its India debut as it has already been unveiled in China as ix25 this year.
Apart from this, it could also be the place where Maruti launches their first all electric car for India – which is the WagonR electric. Then there is the new gen Honda City, which too is expected to be launched at 2020 Auto Expo. Toyota is expected to showcase their rebadged Maruti Brezza, while Mahindra could reveal their new gen Thar, Scorpio and the XUV500.
