2020 Hyundai Creta SUV launched in Bhutan – Rs 20k discount offer till 31st July

Bhutan Hyundai Motors are the sole distributors for the Hyundai brand in the country

The 2020 Hyundai Creta was launched in India in March this year, just prior to the lockdown coming into effect. Despite the turbulent times that followed, the company has noted outstanding demand for the new Creta SUV. It has been the company’s bestselling SUV since launch in March. It was in a second spot on the list of top selling cars in India in June 2020.

The Made-in-India Hyundai Creta – produced at the Hyundai Motor India plant in Chennai – is being exported to Bhutan. Bhutan Hyundai Motors is Bhutan’s sole distributor for the Hyundai brand. They have brought in the new Creta SUV as a CBU.

In Bhutan, new Hyundai Creta is offered in petrol and diesel variants. It is priced between Rs.12.90-20.28 lakhs for the petrol and diesel engine option, while the Creta turbo is priced from Rs.19.11-20.30 lakhs. Bhutan Hyundai Motors is also offering a Nu.20,000 (Rs.20,122) cash discount on the Creta for all bookings received prior to 31st July 2020.

Engine and Variants

The 2020 Hyundai Creta is presented in five variants of E, EX, S, SX and SX(O). Offered in two petrol and one diesel engine option, the 1.4 liter turbocharged petrol engine makes 138 hp power and 242 Nm torque mated to a 7 speed DCT. The 1.5 liter petrol engine is capable of 113 hp power and 144 Nm torque with the engine mated to a manual gearbox and automatic transmission. The 1.5 liter diesel engine delivers 113 hp power and 250 Nm torque with options of a manual and 6 speed automatic gearbox.

Claimed mileage stands at 16.8 km/l for the petrol manual while the petrol automatic offers 16.9 km/l. The diesel manual offers 21.4 km/l while the automatic offers 18.5 km/l. The claimed mileage for the petrol-manual is 16.8kmpl, and for the petrol-automatic is 16.9kmpl. For the diesel, the claimed mileage for the manual is 21.4kmpl and for the automatic, is 18.5kmpl.

The mid-sized SUV sports LED headlamps, bright DRLs, fog lamps with turning function that moves along with the steering direction, a panoramic sunroof with one touch function. Interiors exude high quality and luxury all around. It is dominated by a 7.0 inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.2 inch touchscreen infotainment system with connectivity functions like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink.

Voice commands understand Indian English and there is an air purifier that keeps the cabin fresh. Ventilated front seats with a three level cooling function, fast cooling climate control, wireless charging, multiple USB ports through the cabin and a host of safety aids along with a total of 6 air bags are the highlight of the 2020 Hyundai Creta.

Hyundai Motors has revealed that the diesel variant of the Creta has found more buyers in India. Of the total number of 45,000 orders received thus far, there are a 56 percent of buyers opting for the Creta diesel variant. This is contrary to the belief that diesel vehicles would not be able to endure the BS6 transition.
